A Message from our Principal, Mr. Hyder
Hello Beaver families, friends, and community,
My name is Scott Hyder and I’m the proud Principal of Tenino High School. I’m also a graduate of Tenino High School, so I feel like I’m home to serve the community that helped me become who I am. I look forward to meeting you and getting to know each family.
Before coming to Tenino School District, my professional career has been marked by cultural diversity and a series of educational and wonderful benchmarks. I spent two years at Mt. Adams Middle School, thirteen years with Yelm Community Schools, three years as the assistant principal of Hoquiam High School, two years as an assistant principal of Spanaway Lake High School, and before Tenino, the principal of Oakville Middle/High School.
Working in various districts, both small and large, has given me a great perspective on education: that all children want a school environment where they can identify and a place they belong. This means having high educational standards, a positive atmosphere, and a safe environment. I am excited to dedicate my professional career to Tenino and the betterment of all our students.
I believe all Tenino Students will graduate THS. There are three parts to helping all students find success at THS:
1. Building positive relationships with students.
2. Having a rigorous learning environment that puts students as active learners.
3. Providing opportunities for students to connect to THS.
