On Friday, November 8, 2024, Tenino School District staff and students honored Veterans. Veterans were welcomed at Tenino High School by a decorated red, white & blue hall complete with streamers and balloons. Veterans started with a Veteran's Day Brunch hosted by Mrs. Maxfield's FFA students. The Guests of Honor were treated with a delicious meal followed by an assembly where they were shown appreciation for their service by the THS staff and students.
Veterans were recognized and honored at the Tenino Middle School during an assembly put on by Mrs. Schall and the Leadership class. Several students who are Boy Scouts posted and retired the colors. Guest speaker, Veteran John Lucas, shared his experience in Vietnam with the staff, students, and fellow Veterans.
Tenino Elementary School honored Veterans during their assembly. Several Boy Scout students posted the colors and all the students sang a special song called, "Because of You" to the Veterans in attendance. Special guest, retired TSD Director of Maintenance Glenn Fleming, played "TAPS" on his bugle.
