Today is School Resource Officer Appreciation Day! Thank you to our SRO, Aaron Lee but also the entire Tenino Police Department for their support of the Tenino School District! Our schools and community are lucky to have them!

Important Notice
The Tenino School District will not have school on February 19th or February 20th.
Despite the district closure today due to snow, there is No School on both Feb. 19 (Presidents Day) and Feb. 20, which was built into our calendar for an emergency/weather makeup day.
Today's closure is scheduled to be made up on Friday, June 14th. As June 14th will now be the last day of school, it remains a half day.

INCLEMENT WEATHER ANNOUNCEMENT
Due to dangerous road conditions throughout the district and downed trees, Tenino Schools will be CLOSED today, February 15th. Please be safe and stay warm!

This is a friendly reminder that this Wednesday, February 14th is an ACT Early Dismissal Day. Students will be dismissed following our Early Dismissal schedule.

The Japanese 3 class at Tenino High School had a special guest this week! Ms. Leslie Brooks came to teach students Ikebana and they turned out beautiful! 🌿🌸🌺🌹🌷🌼💐
Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. It is also known as kadō. The tradition dates back to Heian period, when floral offerings were made at altars. Later, flower arrangements were instead used to adorn the tokonoma of a traditional Japanese home.
Thank you Ms. Leslie Brooks for taking time out of your day to visit our school!

This week is National School Counseling Week! We are so grateful for Ms. Mattson at Parkside and Tenino Elementary, Ms. Hopkins at Tenino Middle School and Ms. Dauer at Tenino High School! Thank you for all you do to support our schools and students!

Congratulations to Senior, Dakota Lees and Ynavi Rodriguez!!
Hard Sub Regionals Tournament for our ladies this weekend in Hoquiam, but we are a young team and will continue to grow and get better. Advancing to regionals is Senior Dakota Lees and for the first time in Tenino Female Wrestling we have a freshman Sub Regional Champ in Ynavi Rodriguez. Freshman Nataliah Chacon also will be advancing as an alternate after suffering an injury in the placing rounds.

Some of our Kindergarten students at Parkside drew monsters and Tenino High School Art 1 students sewed them into stuffies using felt! The best part was getting to walk them over for a special hand delivery!
The connections that many of our high school students share with our younger students and the presence that they have in our elementary schools, are so special. From classroom TA's to projects like this one, it is so exciting to see these connections!

On Saturday, Jan 20th Tenino HS hosted a Regional SkillsUSA Welding Sculpture Contest. Tenino students competed in three skills; Sculpture, Interview, and Notebook. Did you know there is a Ballot Box located just in front of the District Office? It makes for a quick and easy drop off! We do recommend making sure you avoid school drop off/pick up during the weekdays. Drop off times are typically about 7:45 to 8:30am and pick up times are between 2 and 3pm! Don’t forget to VOTE! 🗳️⏰📍
