The Japanese 3 class at Tenino High School had a special guest this week! Ms. Leslie Brooks came to teach students Ikebana and they turned out beautiful! 🌿🌸🌺🌹🌷🌼💐
Ikebana is the Japanese art of flower arrangement. It is also known as kadō. The tradition dates back to Heian period, when floral offerings were made at altars. Later, flower arrangements were instead used to adorn the tokonoma of a traditional Japanese home.
Thank you Ms. Leslie Brooks for taking time out of your day to visit our school!
We are so excited to have the opportunity of hosting Olympic Gold Medalist, Motivational Speaker, and 2010 Wrestling Hall of Fame Inductee, Rulon Gardner this coming Friday at THS! Read about Rulon here, https://www.rulongardner.com/who-is-rulon-gardner.htm

Freshman Nataliah Chacon also will be advancing as an alternate after suffering an injury in the placing rounds.
Some of our Kindergarten students at Parkside drew monsters and Tenino High School Art 1 students sewed them into stuffies using felt! The best part was getting to walk them over for a special hand delivery!
The connections that many of our high school students share with our younger students and the presence that they have in our elementary schools, are so special. From classroom TA's to projects like this one, it is so exciting to see these connections!
