As of April 13, 2020 Parkside Elementary Students in Kindergarten, 1st and 2nd Grade students are now required to do the following schoolwork: Daily – 15 minutes of iReady Math, 15 minutes iReady Reading, and 30 minutes of reading books or books from EPIC. 1st and 2nd Grade students should also be taking several A.R. Quizzes each week. The more the merrier. All of these programs are being monitored by your classroom teacher and others. Make sure you are also watching and participating in the learning video lessons that have been created by your grade level teachers. Students will be given a grade based on their weekly participation. At the end of the school year students will get two Report Cards, one will cover the period from Feb. 3rd - March 13th. The second will cover March 16th - June 19th and be grade level specific. It will be called a Distance Learning Report. We will share your child's Current Level and number of lessons passed of iReady in both Reading and Math. 1st and 2nd Graders should also be taking several Accelerated Reading (A.R) quizzes each week. An A.R. Comprehension test score and the Average Book Level read by the student during this time period.
If you don’t have internet access you will need to pick up a packet from the lunch sites every other week. These sites are at: Tenino Middle School, Violet Prairie Fire Station, and the Bucoda Community Center from 11:00-1:00 Monday through Friday. When packets are completed, please turn them into one of these locations. Please make sure that your child’s first and last name is clearly printed on the front cover. Packets are intended only for those that do not have internet access. If you do not have internet access and can’t come in and get a packet please notify your child’s teacher ASAP. Packets cover a two-week period. The packet dates are: (Packet #2 April 13-24, Packet #3 April 27-May 8, Packet # 4 May 11-22, Packet #5 May 26-June 5. In mid-May a Multicultural Packet for the weeks of June 8th-19th will be sent home with your child’s items they left at school along with their new free Jog-A-thon T-Shirt. They will be available for pickup curbside at Parkside Elementary School soon. Look for information on dates/times for this event to be shared with you in the coming days.
Student material & T-shirt pick up times and days announced. Please stay in your car when picking your child's stuff up. We will bring your sack to you. Please observe and follow the specific directions for each teacher and grade level. We will be using multiple doors for pickup.

Kindergarten Registration is now open for the 2020-2021 School Year. Child must be 5 by August 31, 2020 to attend. Please go to teninosd.org to register. If you are not able to scan birth certificates and shot records into Skyward you can do one of the following: take a picture and email to dafoeg@tenino.k12.wa.us, fax it to 360-264-3838 or mail them to Parkside Elementary P.O. Box 4024, Tenino, WA 98589.

Again this week we will be able to offer the following times for dropping off books near the front door of Parkside. Look for the blue wagon during these days & times: Monday 8-10 am, Tuesday 9-Noon, Wednesday- 10-1 pm, Friday- 9-Noon.
