Tenino School District staff members are finding ways to bridge the funding gap to help enrich and enhance our students' educational experiences. One way to accomplish this is by applying for grants.
We are excited to announce several PES staff members and one TES staff member who received mini-grants from the Thurston County School Retirees' Association. Congratulations to PES staff: Karla Zehm ($100), Raelynn Goodwin ($100), Kristi Schow ($100) and Colleen Taylor ($250) and TES staff: Samantha Lawton ($100).
In addition, Kathy Slease and Karla Zehm were each awarded $200 from the TwinStar Credit Union Classroom Cash Grant.

Have a great break and stay safe and warm, Tenino!

Next week is Dress-up Week at Parkside.

Parkside's Food Drive ends Tuesday, December 17, 2024. Help us reach our goal of 1000 Food Items. Thanks for supporting our community!

Our local fire fighters serve our community in so many ways. Not only do they help us during emergencies but they help students in our local schools as well. Today, some of the members of South Thurston Fire & EMS and Professional Firefighters Local 3825 made a generous donation of shoes for students in need at Parkside! You are heroes in our books everyday! Thanks for all your do in our community! We hear you might even be delivering Santa to the Tree Lighting on main street tonight! THANK YOU!

Dick from the T90 Quarrymen Car Club stopped by this afternoon with a gift for all the students. His organization puts on the Car Show in the city park each August. Next August come to the park and check out the neat cars and trucks. Parkside is so lucky to have their support. The kind gift will help purchase more books for our book vending machine. Last year Parkside gave away over 500 free books to students through the vending machine. We are so lucky to have great organizations, businesses and families that help support our efforts in putting books in every child's hands. THANK YOU, T90 Quarrymen for your continued support. Your early Christmas present is greatly appreciated!

Santa is coming to Town.

How many days has your child been absent from school over the past 4 weeks? Was it just one sick day or two? What about the day they left early for the dentist? Or the days you took off to extend a vacation? It can be hard to keep track.
Missing a day here or there may not seem like a problem. But school absences add up quickly. Missing two days a month—excused or unexcused—can add up to a child being considered chronically absent. The good news is that showing up at school has powerful, positive effects on children.
